Stanley Johns, age 87, of Madison, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Madison Care and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church in Madison. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

 

Stanley Johns was born September 22, 1929, in West Ellis, WI to Stanley and Barbara (Moore) Johns. He graduated from high school in Hammond, IN. At age 20 he married Gloria Hodonas and they had 9 wonderful children. The couple lived in the midwest and later moved to Arizona. Stan was employed in the tire industry for over 50 years. In 1979, he married Nancy Nelson before retiring and moving to Madison in 1995. The couple cleaned at Wells Fargo Bank for several years, Nancy died in 2013. Stan was a member of the Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church and loved his farm and model trains.

 

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; one son Ronald; one brother Tom; and one sister Betty Ellenhausen.

 

Survivors include five sons, Mike (Sam) Johns of Tuscon, AZ, Larry (Colleen) Johns of Harrisburg, Pat (Linda) Johns of Catalina, AZ, Mark (Vicki) Johns of Vail, AZ, Ricky (Vicki) Johns of Madison; three daughters, Kathleen (David) Moats of Tuscon, AZ, Mary (Craig) Norton of Tuscon, AZ, Sherri (Mark) Loutenheizer of Prescott, AZ; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister Nancy (Jim) of Portage, IN; and one brother-in-law Bud Ellenhausen of Beecher, IL; and his best little buddy, Tucker.
