Arlyce Freet, age 75, of Madison, died Monday, August 27, 2018, at Madison Regional Health System.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, August 31, 2018, at Church at the Gate, Madison, with inurnment at Winfred Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arlyce Marlene (Nipp) Freet was born March 30, 1943 to George and Viola (Rich) Nipp in Chester, SD. Her family called Winfred, SD home and she attended Madison Public School.
During high school she met Harold Giese and they married on October 18, 1958. They made their home in Jefferson, WI where they had three children. Arlyce had many hobbies she loved such as reading her Bible, her pets, crocheting, cross stitching, and baking. She was famous for her homemade pies. She worked at Redi-Serve in Fort Atkinson, WI. After she and Harold divorced in 1982 she moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she worked at the airport café and Lee’s Family Restaurant.
She married William (Bill) Freet on June 10th, 1989 in Madison, SD. Soon after she moved in with Bill and made Madison her home. During this time she worked at Golden Living in the laundry, the kitchen in the Madison Sale Barn, Skippers Italian Restaurant and Casey’s General Store. Her church family was church of the Gate in Madison.
She is survived by 6 children and stepchildren, William (Sandra) Giese, Darlene (Ronald) Sparks, David (Renee) Giese, Debra (Greg) Grimm, Cindy Freet and Scott Freet, 9 grandchildren and step-grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and great step grandchildren and one sister, Janice Walker and many special friends including Frank Beesley and Andrew Hunter. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers, Gary Nipp and Virgil Nipp, her husband, William Freet and Harold Giese.
