Darlene M. Jacobson

Darlene M. Jacobson, age 89, of Austin, MN formerly of the Madison area, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 19, 2018, at the Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Monday.

Darlene Hyland was born on April 3, 1928, to Edwin and Idella (Hexom) Hyland in Madison, SD. She attended country school, and Washington Elementary School before graduating from Beadle Campus High School in Madison. Darlene married Keith Jacobson on June 17,1951, at Prairie Queen Lutheran Church near Nunda. They moved to Austin, MN in 1955 where she worked for the Austin State Bank for many years. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin and she enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include two nieces, Gloria (Floyd) Ebdrup of Wentworth, Lois (Eugene) Panning of Hamburg, MN; one nephew, David (Mindee) Meyer of Madison; and several great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Keith in 2001; one sister Marcella Alverson; and one nephew, Edwin Meyer
