Jone J. Hedrick

Jone J. Hedrick, age 77, of Madison, died Monday, May 07, 2018, at Madison Regional Health System. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 10, 2018, at the Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Madison. The family will be present for visitation on Wednesdayfrom 5-7 PM at the Ellsworth Funeral Home.

Jone Jeannete Hallenbeck was born May 8, 1940, in Madison, to Robert and Joyce (Hanneman) Hallenbeck. She graduated from Madison High School before receiving her Bachelor’s degree from USD. Jone married John Berry in December of 1961, John passed away in 1967. Following John’s passing, Jone taught high school at Chester School before she married Ronald Hedrick on July 11, 1969. They lived in Sioux City for a few years before moving to Chattanooga, TN, then to San Antonio, TX, in 1975 where she was senior athletic secretary at the University of Texas – San Antonio. Jone retired from this position in 2003 after 15 years. She and Ron returned to Madison in 2014.

Jone was an active member of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio and she attended Abundant Life Church in Madison. She enjoyed physical activities including swimming (life guard) and tennis. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her husband Ron of Madison; three sons, Jaime (Sue) Berry, Todd Berry, Noel Hedrick all of Madison; one sister, Jayne (David) Bytell of Florida; five grandchildren, John, Adam, Michael, Oskar, Clara; six great-grandchildren, Sam, Peyton, Annberlin, Braidon, Arie, Lizzie; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
