June A. Becker

June A Becker, age 84, of Madison, died Sunday, September 9, 2018, at her residence under hospice care, surrounded by her family after a short courageous battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 13, 2018, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.  The family will be present for visitation 5-7 PM Wednesday with a Scripture Wake Service and Rosary at 7:00 PM at Ellsworth Funeral Home.

June Audrey Michael was born June 1, 1934, in Sioux Falls, to Fred and Louise (Frank) Michael.  she graduated from Washington High School.  June married Loren “Woody” Becker on June 6, 1953, in Sioux Falls.  They raised their four children in Sioux Falls before retiring to an acreage at Madison.

June loved and enjoyed her family and crafting but mostly watching the wildlife that always graces their yard.  2nd Street Diner was their breakfast hangout and almost everyone knew which was their booth!

Survivors include her husband of 65 years Woody of Madison; two daughters, Lori (Don) Hansen and Kathy (Duane) Phelps both of Madison; two sons, Mark (Maureen) Becker of Midland, MI and Don (Josalyn) Becker of Lakewood, CO; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (June) Michael of Sioux Falls, Glen (Vonnie) Michael of Sedro-Woolley, WA; and one sister-in-law, Janice Amundson of Columbus, GA

June was preceded in death by her parents and one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alice and “Dunk” Dunkelberger.
