LeRoy W. Demaray, age 85, of Madison, died Monday, February 19, 2018, at Madison Regional Health System.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Church of the Nazarene in Madison. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Winfred Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday with the family present from 5-7 PM.
LeRoy Willard Demaray was born December 10, 1932, at Canova, SD, to Willard and Viola (Ford) Demaray. He graduated from Rutland High School and served two years in the US Army during the Korean War. LeRoy married Donna Lee Sullivan on December 24, 1953, at Kiowa, KS. He farmed and owned a trucking company in Nunda and then was a custodian in Kiowa, KS for nine years. He worked for Gehl Manufacturing for 20 years and retired in 1992. He and Donna Lee managed Madison Mobile Acres.
LeRoy was a member of the Madison Church of the Nazarene, a life member of SDRVOA Camping Assn, and a member of the Nunda American Legion.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Donna Lee in 2011; one brother Myron; one sister-in-law Theola Demaray; and one great-grandson.
Survivors include one son, Michael (Kathy) Demaray of Hermosa, SD; two daughters, Teresa (Ron) Wise and Brenda (Robert) Bender, both of Madison; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Darrell Demaray of Nunda; one sister-in-law Barb Demaray of Mason City, IA; special friend Barb Leonard of Madison, and his cat Faith.
