Lyle Sherman Coonradt, age 83, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Madison, died on Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at his home in Sioux Falls, surrounded by his loving family.
Inurnment will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Graceland Cemetery, Madison.
Lyle was born on April 25, 1933 in Madison, SD, the son on George Morgan and Inga Marie (Pederson) Coonradt. He attended public school in Madison and college in Vermillion, SD at the University of South Dakota where he graduated in 1955 with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology.
Lyle served as a first lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve from 1955-1964. During that time he also began his career as an insurance adjustor when he went to work for Western Adjustment and Inspection Company in Jamestown, ND. From there he became the manager of Foster Adjustment Company in Marshall, MN and eventually the owner of that company in Sioux Falls, SD where he retired in 1999.
Lyle enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid reader which contributed to his sharp mind and knowledge on many subjects.
He was united in marriage to Olive Elaine Stemen on December 20, 1957. Lyle is survived by his wife Olive, Sioux Falls; daughter Karen Wischmann (Chris) of Temecula, CA; son Dan Coonradt (Kelly) of Wayzata, MN, sister Maryann Lietzke (Lee) of Caldwell, ID, and brother Alan Coonradt of Sioux Falls. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Inga and his brother Burton.
