Arlyce I. Schut

Arlyce Schut, age 89, of Madison, died Thursday, April 22, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard. Funeral services will be 11:30 AM, Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at the Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Arlyce Irene Gray was born on September 2, 1931, at Canton, SD, to Meredith & Edna Gray. She married Gerald Schut on September 4, 1953, at the Canton Lutheran Church. They farmed in the area and later moved to Madison, where she worked at Evie’s Beauty Shop, Ben Franklin and Home Health Care.

Survivors include her brother Laurel Gray of CA, numerous nephews and nieces; sisters-in-law Lois Sparkman, Garland, TX, Roy (Verla) Schut, Brookings, Betty (Neal) Busser, Colton, and Doris (Milo) Sager, Excelsior Springs, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, parents Meredith & Edna Gray; two sisters, Peg (Bill) Pochardt and Dee (Bud) Nelson.
