Carol Feldmann

Carol Feldmann, 72, of Chester, SD, died Thursday, October 12, 2023 at her farm home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 AM,  October 16, 2023, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Wentworth, SD with burial at Prospect Cemetery, Chester. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 15, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Ellsworth Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.

Carol Jean (Hartmann) Feldmann was born April 19,, 1951, to Hans Emanuel Hartmann and Margaret Emelia (Meisel) Hartmann in Sioux Falls, SD. She was baptized in a Lutheran Church on June 3, 1951 and was confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls on November 5, 1967.

She attended Washington High School. She married Terry Dean Feldmann on March 14, 1969, at Augustana Lutheran Church. They lived their entire married life near Chester, SD, where she enjoyed her love for horses, especially her mare, Ginger and her love of her dogs.

She worked at Bethel Nursing Home, Home Health Care, and was a grocery check out girl where she loved helping the elderly. She also loved children and nurtured them.

Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, Terry of Chester, a daughter, Peggy (Paul) Stratmeyer and their sons, Nicolas and Matthew, all of Sioux Falls; one daughter-in-law, Carrie (Frank) Feldmann and their son Jonathan Feldmann formerly of Spencer, SD and their daughter Justyne (Mitch) Shoenrock and their son Colton, of Kimball, SD; a son Steven (Missy) Feldmann and their sons Martin and Logan of Julesburg, CO; sibling Norma (Dale) Schaefer of Hayti, SD; sibling Marvin Madsen of Dixon, CA; and sibling Ruth Berglund of Sioux Falls, SD.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Hans and Margaret Hartmann; a son, Frank Feldmann of Spencer, SD; a brother, Carl “Butch” Hartmann of Colton, SD; and a sibling, Marlys Koepke of Hartford, SD.

The Ellsworth Funeral Home, Madison, SD, is in charge of the arrangements.
