Nancy VanRosendale, age 81, of Madison, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Heritage Senior Living in Madison. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
She was born on September 3, 1940, in Flandreau, to Gerald (Bud) and Beverly (Sayles) Nace. She graduated from Colman High School in 1958 and attended Stewart’s School of Hairstyling. She worked for a few years at beauty shops in Chester, Watertown, and Madison. On December 31, 1960, Nancy married Kenny VanRosendale in Colman. They farmed near Center, until 1988 when they retired and moved to Madison. She worked in the deli at Sunshine Foods for several years and thoroughly enjoyed her time there.
She was a member of the Colman and Madison United Methodist Churches. She enjoyed ceramics, needlework, reading, and spending time on her iPad.
Nancy greatly appreciated all the visits, calls, notes, snaps, and help from family, friends, and neighbors. A special thank you to Heritage Assisted Living for their excellent care.
Survivors include two sisters, Linda Baker of Sioux Falls, and Andrea (Marc) VanVooren of Colman; one brother Jim (Teri) Nace of Lake Poinsett; many nieces and nephews; and three Godchildren, Kaitlynn Nelson, John Baker, and Connie VanRosendale.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one sister, Jill Handel.
