Richard A. Galde

Richard Allen Galde (Dick) of Winfred, SD passed away peacefully Monday, November 13, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, surrounded by his family. Memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at Winfred United Church of Christ. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church in Winfred.

Richard was born January 10, 1947, to Donald and Anna (Krause) Galde at Eau Claire, WI. After joining the Navy in 1964 he proudly served 27 years where he did 2 tours in Vietnam as well as other deployments during his career. He met his wife Karen (Palmer) in New York and on September 14, 1968, the two were joined in marriage at Eau Claire, WI. After retirement Dick moved with his wife Karen to Madison, SD and after 1 year they settled in Winfred. Dick enjoyed his life by riding his motorcycle, driving truck for various companies, and running his pilot car business.

Dick is survived by the love of his life Karen of 55 years, sons Richard Galde Il of Cherokee, IA, Donald Galde Il of Winfred, SD, and daughter Lisa Wise (Rich) of Winfred, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Dick was proceeded in death by his parents Donald and Anna Galde, brothers Bruce Galde and Thomas Galde and grandson Christopher Wise.
