Sharon L. Oines

Sharon Lea Oines, age 79, of Madison, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Memorial visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020, at Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison, with a prayer service to follow from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with Pastor Phillip Hofinga officiating.  A private family burial will take place prior to services on Monday.

Sharon was born February 12, 1940, in Brookings, SD.  She graduated from Ramona High School in 1958.  On September 29, 1958, at the age of 18, she married the love of her life, Maynard Oines, at Pipestone, MN.  Sharon loved her family, her animals, a good book, and had a giving heart, always willing to help others.  Sharon loved her Lord and Savor, Jesus Christ, and peacefully went home to be with Him.

She will be forever cherished by her son, Tim (Pam) Oines of Lake Poinsett, and their daughters, Katie (Pat) Lamb with children, Lily and Will, and Kasey (Jared Ludwig) Oines; and her daughter, Tarri (Brad) Minor of Lake Madison and their children, Clayton (Lacey) Minor with children Rylynn, Camden, Mayley, and Wesley, Kelly (Josh) Goslinga with children Jonathan, Elin, and Elsie, Carrie (Jeff) LeBrun with children Parker, Emma, Evelynn, and Elliette, and Michael (Elizabeth) Minor;    brothers, David (Mary Ann) Exe of Albuquerque, NM, Clifford (Kathy) DeKnikker of Tuscon, AZ; and Joe (Deb) Exe of Sedona, AZ;    one sister-in-law, Donna Oines of Madison, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 59 years, Maynard Oines, who died on October 1, 2017; sister-in-law, Lynn Exe; brother, Mike Exe; brother-in-laws, David Oines and Marvin Oines; and sister-in-law, Darlene Oines.

Memorials may be directed to the Madison Volunteer Fire Department.  Maynard proudly served as a volunteer firefighter and this was a cause that was important to Maynard and Sharon.
