Arlyce, Lois and I offer our sincerest sympathies to you and Gerald''''''''s family.  I have known you both my entire life and people of Gerald''''''''s stature are very rare, especially in today''''''''s world.  God bless his memory and you.  Richard (Dick) Moose.

Arlyce,my thoughts and prayers to you & Gerald's family.  He was a good friend to Dad & Mom (Floyd & Curly Moose).  When we lived in the Clarno area late 40's & early 50's, he, Merle, and Dad thrashed grain together for a few years.  We always enjoyed his sense of humor, his positive outlook on most everything and his gentle nature.  He was a very nice man.  Best wishes to you.  Dwight Moose

Uncle Gerald was such a wonderful man. As a child I always thought that he was a giant!  He allowed all of the neices and nephews to climb on him like he was a jungle gym. He was a very kind person.  I will miss him so very much. Aunt Arlyce, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Linda

On behalf of our Bethel Home family, I want to express our sympathies to Gerald's family.  He was with us for over a year and a half at Bethel.  We will be holding a Memorial Service next Tuesday, August 14 at 10:15, conducted by our Chaplain, Rev. Conrad Krahling.  We will be audio taping the service for the family.  All family and friends are welcome to join us at that time.

My name is Kylie Vilhauer. I am a CNA at Bethel and I cared for Gerald. He is the sweetest man I know, and I have grown to love him dearly. He was always a character to talk to, and always kept us on our toes. :) Throughout my years at Bethel I have never met a man like him. He gave the best hugs! And always knew how to make you smile. My favorite memory of him was watching him wheel himself up and down the hallways, smiling and waving at everybody, and brightening everyone''s day! Gerald Steven Schut, or GerBear, will always be in my heart. I am very sorry for your loss. I know that you have heard that a lot, but I am truly sorry. He will be greatly missed by many, and has touched each one of us at Bethel in different ways, whether it was his smile or hugs, he will never be forgotten. You, his family, are in my thoughts and prayers, and I believe with all of my heart that he is watching over all of you with his smile, and not wanting you to feel sorrow but to celebrate the time you had spent with him, and the love he shared. With deepest sympathy, Kylie Vilhauer.
